By Florian Arsal BejteApril 20263 min read

Accept Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and more — all you need is a Revolut Business account and two API keys.

What Is Revolut Business?

Revolut Business is a financial super-app used by over 500,000 businesses worldwide. Its Merchant payment gateway lets you accept online payments with competitive fees, instant settlement to your Revolut account, and a modern dashboard to manage everything.

Cards & Wallets

Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay, and Google Pay — all supported out of the box.

Instant Settlement

Payments land in your Revolut Business account instantly — no waiting days for bank transfers.

Competitive Fees

Low per-transaction fees with no hidden charges. Pay only for what you process.

Secure & Regulated

Authorised by the Bank of Lithuania as an electronic money institution, with PCI DSS compliance and strong customer authentication (SCA).

What You'll Need

Before you start, make sure you have:

  • An OrdeON restaurant account (Pro plan or higher)
  • A Revolut Business account with Merchant enabled — sign up at revolut.com/business
  • About 5 minutes of your time

Part 1: Get Your API Keys from Revolut

If you already have your Revolut Merchant API keys, skip to Part 2. Otherwise, follow these steps to find them.

1

Go to Revolut Business Merchant Settings

Log in to your Revolut Business dashboard and navigate to:

Merchant → Developer → API keys

If you don't see the Merchant section, you may need to enable it first. Go to your Revolut Business settings and activate the Merchant product.

2

Find Your Public Key

In the API keys section, locate your Public Key (also called API Public Key). It looks like:

pk_live_...

Copy this key — you'll paste it into OrdeON shortly.

3

Generate or Copy Your Secret API Key

In the same section, find or generate your Secret API Key. It looks like:

sk_live_...
Important: The Secret API Key is shown only once when generated. Copy it immediately and store it securely. If you lose it, you'll need to generate a new one.
4

Summary: Your Two Keys

KeyStarts WithPurpose
Public Keypk_live_... or pk_sand_...Identifies your Revolut Merchant account
Secret API Keysk_live_... or sk_sand_...Used server-side to process payments — keep this private
Tip: To test first, use sandbox keys (starting with pk_sand_ and sk_sand_). Use OrdeON's Sandbox Catalog feature to test payments without affecting your live menu. Switch to live keys when you're ready to accept real payments.

Part 2: Connect Revolut in OrdeON

Now paste your two keys into OrdeON. This takes about 1 minute.

1

Open Payment Settings

Log in to your OrdeON admin panel and navigate to:

Settings → Payments

2

Select Revolut as Payment Provider

In the “Payment Provider” card, open the dropdown and select “Revolut”. A new “Revolut Setup” card will appear below.

3

Paste Your Revolut API Keys

Fill in the Revolut Setup form:

FieldDescription
Your Revolut public keyYour pk_live_... or pk_sand_... key from Revolut Merchant settings
Your Revolut secret API keyYour sk_live_... or sk_sand_... key — encrypted before storage

Click “Save”. That's it — Revolut is now connected to your restaurant.

Important: Never share your Secret API key publicly. OrdeON encrypts it with AES-256 before storage — we never see or display it in plain text.
4

Configure Payment Settings

In the payment settings card above the Revolut setup, configure:

  • Enable online payments— toggle ON to collect payments when customers order
  • Currency— select the currency your restaurant accepts
5

Run a Test Payment

If you used sandbox keys ( pk_sand_ / sk_sand_), use OrdeON's Sandbox Catalog to test payments without affecting your live menu. Here's how:

  1. Set a small test amount (e.g., €1.00)
  2. Enter your email address
  3. Click “Start Test Payment”
  4. Use test card number 4929 4212 3460 0821 with any future expiry and CVC 123
  5. You'll be redirected back to OrdeON with a success confirmation
Tip: When you're ready to go live, replace the sandbox keys with your live keys (pk_live_ / sk_live_) in the same settings page.

Configuring Accepted Payment Methods

Revolut lets you control which payment methods your customers see — directly from your Revolut Business dashboard, without touching OrdeON settings.

How to manage payment methods:

  1. Log in to your Revolut Business dashboard and go to Merchant settings
  2. Enable or disable payment methods — cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and any available local payment methods
  3. Changes take effect immediately — no need to update anything in OrdeON
